P.A.S. DIASTASE

The P.A.S. diastase stain is a modified periodic acid-Schiff stain (PAS) in which the preparation is additionally pre-treated with diastase (amylase). This method is used to specifically detect or exclude glycogen by enzymatically removing it prior to PAS staining.
