The Congo Red “Ready to use” kit is an acidic, diazotized dye used in histology – especially for the detection of amyloid deposits in tissues. It is one of the classic amyloid-specific dyes which, when used correctly, shows a characteristic birefringent greenish-yellow to apple-green hue under polarized light.
