The Alcian Blue pH 2.5 – PAS stain is a two-step histochemical stain that can be used to differentiate between acidic and neutral mucopolysaccharides (mucins). It is used particularly in gastrointestinal pathology, bronchial histology, gynecology and tumor diagnostics.
