Il poss\u00e8de un grand domaine cytoplasmique adapt\u00e9 \u00e0 la transduction du signal. Le CD5 est un marqueur de cellules T qui r\u00e9agit \u00e9galement avec un certain nombre de cellules B n\u00e9oplasiques, par exemple dans la leuc\u00e9mie lympho\u00efde chronique \u00e0 cellules B (B-CLL), le lymphome \u00e0 petites cellules B (B-SLL) et le lymphome \u00e0 cellules du manteau.
